White Pepper Powder

White pepper powder is a spice powder that is prepared by grinding white pepper.

Botanical Name: Piper nigrum

Common Name: Safed mirch powder, White pepper powder/ground

Cultivation and Production: India is among the top five White pepper powder exporters & producers in the world. Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are the state that produces white pepper in India.

In India it is harvested during December to January in plains and January to April in the high ranges of western Ghats.

Usage :

Ground White pepper is commonly used in Chinese, Thai, and Portuguese cuisines.
It finds occasional use in other cuisines in salads, light-coloured sauces, and mashed potatoes as a substitute for black pepper, because black pepper would visibly stand out.
