Green cardamom has a strong, unique taste with an intensely aromatic, resinous fragrance. Cardamom production began in ancient times and is native to India.

Botanical Name: Elettaria cardamomum

Common Name: Elachi, Chhoti Elaichi, Green cardamom, True cardamom

Cultivation and Production: India is the World's largest producer & exporter of Cardamom. In India major cardamom cultivation, states are Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

In India it is mainly harvesting commences from June-July and continues till January-February.

Availability: Round the year.
